In Hollywood, Rights and Clearances is a subject rarely spoken about. When audiences watch new artists perform cover songs on shows like American Idol or The Voice, they probably don't realize that there's a whole subsection of the industry devoted to making sure each one of those songs is cleared. When a series on E! discusses the most sexiest stars, the latest fashion faux pas or the "15 Most Awesomest Boy Bands," all of the clips, photos, articles, headlines, magazine covers, and more need to be cleared.
Brian N. Potter runs one of the leading Rights and Clearances companies in Los Angeles, Clearly Right Entertainment, Inc., which he founded in 2007. He's worked with such successful production companies as Ryan Seacrest Productions, Nigel Lythgoe Productions, Endemol USA, Studio Lambert, All3Media America, Dreamworks, and 495 Productions. He's cleared programming for E!, OWN, MTV, Discovery, HGTV, CBS, Bravo, CNBC, AMC, just to name a few. He's credited on thousands of hours of TV, including Jersey Shore, Lopez Tonight, The Pitch, NAACP Image Awards, Design Star, Opening Act and Ryan & Tatum: The O'Neals. Brian is an integral part of keeping the TV world functioning. Because he loves what he does, he's highly sought after, always busy working on new projects and his clients keep hiring him and recommending often.
Brian is a member of CLEAR, a non-profit organization which serves as a networking and educational resource for clearance professionals who work in the film, television and multimedia industries. Brian received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan in 2000.
